Job Description

The Financial Accountant will support the Finance Manager in delivering timely statutory accounts, financial accounting, and reporting. This role will oversee internal controls, intercompany, treasury, and tax areas to ensure compliance with US and German GAAP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Finance Manager to ensure local statutory accounts and tax returns are prepared on time.
  • Support the statutory audits and ongoing tax audit.
  • Primary point of contact for external accountants, statutory auditors, and external tax consultants.
  • Support the Finance Manager by actively coordinating Oracle month-end activities, including reporting, within a small group of accountants.
  • Coordinate the R2R monthly closing and Group reporting.
  • Ensure the company complies with AECOM internal controls.
  • Monitor the activities transitioned to Manila and ensure they are running smoothly.
  • Liaise with Shared Service Centers (Manila and Bucharest) for payments and invoice processing.
  • Drive improvements in accounting processes and statutory accounting.
  • Identify areas for improvement in local B/S reconciliations and drive improvement.
  • Support cash management and forecasting and liaise with the Treasury department.
  • Liaise closely with the Tax team to manage transfer pricing analysis and other tax matters.
  • Assist with ad-hoc requests from the finance and operational team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a multinational environment.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and German is essential.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Excel skills.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in an accurate manner.
  • Excellent numeracy skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a wider team and with remote teams.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Desired Experience:

  • Experience with Oracle is preferred.
  • Practical experience of US group audit or a US reporting environment.
