Research Associate in Time-Resolved Spectroscopy of Flavoenzymes

About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Associate to join our team at the Cluster of Excellence 'Advanced Imaging of Matter' at Universität Hamburg. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of structural biology, focusing on the investigation of flavoenzymes using advanced time-resolved techniques.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design and execute experiments involving serial femtosecond crystallography at X-ray free-electron lasers (XFELs) to study the dynamic structures of flavoenzymes.
  • Conduct ultrafast transient absorption spectroscopy experiments, including data analysis and interpretation.
  • Contribute to project management, including collaboration with international research teams.
  • Disseminate research findings through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at scientific conferences.
  • Assist in the preparation of grant proposals to secure funding for ongoing research projects.

Your Profile

  • Hold a PhD in physics, biophysics, structural biology, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the expression, purification, and characterization of recombinant flavoproteins.
  • Possess hands-on experience with ultrafast laser systems and transient absorption spectroscopy techniques.
  • Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Have a proven track record of scientific publications and presentations at international conferences.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
