Network Systems Engineer

Job Overview:

GDIT is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to support our operations. The Network Engineer will be tasked with assessing client needs and delivering solutions to a range of technical challenges of moderate complexity. Key responsibilities include maintaining, updating configurations, patching, monitoring, and upgrading network equipment such as servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and cryptographic devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure network integrity and connectivity while adhering to established policies.
  • Analyze and implement new communication technologies to improve network capabilities.
  • Manage system backup and recovery processes.
  • Oversee hardware and software procurement.
  • Design and configure systems for data communication networks.
  • Create network diagrams, document configurations, and outline procedures.
  • Assist in the design and development of hardware and software components for telecommunications networks.
  • Stay updated on relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Perform critical tasks essential to the organization.
  • Conduct maintenance and upgrades of network systems including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and cryptographic devices.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior professionals as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Security Clearance: An active TS/SCI Security Clearance is required.
  • Certifications: Candidates must possess a valid DoD 8570.2/8140 IAT II certification; CCNA certification is required, with CCNP preferred.
  • Skills: Proficiency in network diagramming and experience with DoD Networks.
  • Education: BA/BS degree (or equivalent experience) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Must meet German TESA eligibility requirements.
