Technical Applications Specialist

The main objective of this position is to act as the essential liaison among Sales, Operations, Research and Development, Sustaining Engineering, and Product Line Management in relation to the support of both existing and emerging technologies.
Oversight and enhancement of regional technical standards across engineering, sales, and operations. Drive sales and boost revenue at the regional level through the promotion of products and services, adhering to established technical and sales objectives, policies, and programs to achieve optimal sales with maximum returns for the company while introducing new technologies and capabilities for NOV Completion & Production.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete all required safety training, training plans, and competency standards as outlined in company guidelines.
- Possess a solid understanding of on-site rigs, coiled tubing tools, completion tools/systems, and liner hanger systems.
- Prepare, finalize, and submit detailed and accurate end-of-well reports promptly to the Operations Manager/Field Service Manager.
- Adhere to compliance standards (ISO/API/SCC).
- Capable of installing advanced completion tools and equipment according to operational procedures or intended usage.
- Ability to execute advanced downhole hydraulic calculations.
- Draft Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for wellsite operations.
- Work independently and take initiative to resolve potential issues.
- Participate in Corrective Action Teams (CAT) to implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Be available on a 24-hour call basis as required.
- Demonstrate willingness and flexibility to undertake additional tasks as directed by the Operations Manager/Field Service Manager.
- Immediately report any unsafe activities or injuries to the HSE Manager and direct supervisor.
- Understand responsibilities, accountabilities, tasks, and goals regarding health, safety, and environmental protection.
- Operate within a designated geographical area to generate new business, enhance revenue, and service existing clients.
- Ensure that developed marketing and sales initiatives align harmoniously with NOV Completion & Production objectives and plans.
- Provide technical expertise and support to clients. Assist other sales personnel, clients, and potential clients with technical inquiries regarding products. Attend instructional sessions focused on product line-specific training.
- Recommend improvements to methods, performance, and quality to enhance efficiency.
- Monitor the technical content of job proposals generated in the field and sales to ensure adherence to technical standards.
- Assist and support the introduction and development of new products.
- Design and deliver technical training courses, both internally and for external clients.
- Provide field technical support as necessary.
- May assist sales personnel in bid preparation.
- Engage with clients to develop and design products and services.
- Perform various other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor within the physical constraints of the role.
- Oversee the career development process for District, Field, and Trainee Engineers.
- Create regional marketing communication materials to support new product/service launches and overall marketing strategies.
- Assist in technical investigations and problem reporting.
- Design and develop new applications and scenarios to meet customer requirements and objectives with maximum efficiency.
- Maintain sales relationships with key clients.
- Advise sales personnel, clients, and potential clients on technical issues affecting the installation or sale of products and/or services.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of field experience or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in application engineering or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License.
