Senior Controls Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Controls Engineering to lead our team of engineers in developing and implementing innovative control systems for automotive applications. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of cutting-edge control solutions that meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Development of Control Systems: Oversee the development of control algorithms and strategies for various automotive systems, including powertrain, chassis, and body control.
  • Manage and Develop a Team: Manage a team of controls engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and career development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., hardware, software, testing) to ensure seamless integration and optimization of control systems.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and regulations to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations, such as ISO.
  • Develop and Implement Testing Procedures: Develop and implement robust testing and validation procedures to verify the performance and reliability of control systems.

Requirements:

  • Advanced Degree: Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in automotive controls engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical expertise in control systems theory, modeling, and simulation.
  • Tools and Technologies: Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent tools.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in German and English is essential.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Model-Based Development: Experience with model-based development and simulation tools.
  • Programming Languages: Knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++.
  • Real-Time Operating Systems: Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded systems.
  • Automotive Networking Protocols: Familiarity with automotive networking protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
