About Our Organization
Our Utility Computing (UC) division is responsible for delivering innovative products — from foundational services like Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) to a continuous stream of new product innovations that distinguish AWS's offerings in the marketplace.
As a member of the UC team, you will contribute to the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Applications services within AWS.
Key Responsibilities
As a Database Engineering Leader, your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the growth and leadership of a database software development team that reimagines traditional database service assumptions and designs cloud-optimized database services.
- Directing the design, implementation, testing, and deployment of these database services while managing the project backlog.
- Mentoring a skilled team of software engineers, engaging in hands-on technical work, and providing guidance on complex technical challenges, design considerations, and prioritization of features and timelines.
- Fostering a culture of innovation and supporting your engineering team to maximize their potential and development.
- Collaborating with senior leadership to establish business objectives and resource needs, influencing both technical and business strategies.
- To excel in this role, you should possess deep technical and software expertise, coupled with strong business insight and judgment. You must be capable of defining groundbreaking products and have the ability to recruit and lead a team.
