About the Role

We are seeking an experienced database kernel developer to join our team at Amazon Web Services Development Center Germany GmbH - R28. As a Senior Database Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing large-scale database services in the cloud.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop database kernel components
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database services meet customer needs
  • Develop and maintain database performance and scalability
  • Work with customers to understand their database requirements and provide solutions
Requirements
  • 4+ years of database engine development experience
  • 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 7+ years of programming experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • 7+ years of full software development life cycle experience
  • Experience in designing system components
  • PostgreSQL internals knowledge
