Embl-Ebi is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Science Education Programme Assistant to join our team.

About the Role

The Science Education Programme Assistant will play a key role in promoting the EMBL teacher training programme across Member States. This involves developing and implementing plans to increase programme visibility, building relationships with educational and research institutions, and supporting the development of local teacher networks and training programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement plans to promote the EMBL teacher training programme across Member States.
  • Support the development of local teacher networks and training programmes.
  • Build relationships with educational and research institutions to expand the programme's network.
  • Liaise with schools and out-of-school programmes from European countries.
  • Utilise social media, email campaigns, webinars, and partnerships to increase programme visibility.
  • Assist in managing the teacher training programme, as well as content development and event logistics.
  • Organise meetings, maintain databases, and prepare presentations and reports.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in communications, public relations, business administration or a related field.
  • 1-3 years' experience in outreach or public relations, preferably in education or a related field.
  • Proven experience in creating compelling promotional content, including blogs, social media posts and promotional materials.
  • Strong skills in building and maintaining relationships with educational institutions, organisations and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A service-oriented, friendly nature and a can-do attitude.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
