Your Role as a Data Engineer
As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining the infrastructure that underpins our data pipelines and streaming applications.
Your Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our Data Engineering team within the Data & Analytics division, reporting to the Head of Data & Analytics.
- Design, develop, and manage our Kafka and Debezium infrastructure, including topics, connectors, and brokers.
- Create and maintain Ansible playbooks for effective infrastructure configuration and management.
- Develop and manage Kubernetes manifests, Helm charts, and other deployment artifacts.
- Monitor and resolve issues related to Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications.
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) and work with cross-functional teams to ensure uniform infrastructure management across the organization.
- Participate in our 24/7 on-call rotation, if desired.
Your Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in data engineering, particularly in infrastructure-related roles.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex challenges.
- Proficient in software engineering with experience in Python.
- Familiarity with at least three of the following technologies: Change data capture (preferably Debezium), Container Orchestration (preferably Kubernetes), Public Cloud Providers (preferably Google Cloud Platform), Infrastructure as Code (preferably Terraform), Message brokers (preferably Apache Kafka), Configuration management tools (preferably Ansible).
- A keen interest in working within an agile, predominantly remote setting.
- Excellent communication skills and a willingness to embrace our company culture and values, enjoying collaboration in an international, English-speaking team.
