Overview:

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated Technical Support Specialist to enhance our team. This role is essential in delivering technical assistance to users across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier 1 and 2 technical support for various technology systems and software applications.
  • Address user inquiries promptly, including password resets and troubleshooting access issues.
  • Efficiently manage and resolve technical support tickets.
  • Thoroughly document all support interactions.
  • Collaborate with the IT department on significant projects and during periods of staff shortages.
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols for all technology.
  • Prepare IT setups for events and provide audiovisual assistance.
  • Maintain inventory records and conduct regular assessments.
  • Assist in network and server maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Stay informed about the latest HelpDesk technologies and propose enhancements.
  • Foster a positive work environment and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Familiarity with major operating systems and software applications.
  • Experience in technical support operations or a related field.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Proficient in setting up audiovisual equipment.
  • Skilled in documenting processes and maintaining logs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Career Readiness Certificate.
  • Understanding of Network Topology, Adobe Admin Console, VMware, Zoom, and Active Directory.
