Role Overview:
We are seeking motivated professionals who have a deep interest in cost and commercial management. Our team in the German region is on the lookout for a Senior Cost & Commercial Manager with expertise in the Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences sector. This role involves delivering comprehensive cost management services for ongoing projects across the country. We offer a flexible working policy, allowing our team members to primarily work from home while visiting client sites as needed. Our team convenes in Frankfurt for necessary meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize previous experience in a cost consultancy environment in a comparable position.
  • Engage with clients in the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences sectors.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in JCT contracts, with familiarity in NEC contracts being advantageous.
  • Conduct cost planning, budgeting, and estimating activities.
  • Oversee personnel management and risk assessment.
  • Apply knowledge of contract law and construction-related contractual frameworks.
  • Provide insights and advice on Contract Administration.
  • Implement value engineering and life cycle costing methodologies.
  • Exhibit a strong grasp of industry best practices.
  • Address contemporary issues such as Sustainability, Social Value, and Carbon Reduction in the Public Sector context.
  • Conduct Capex vs. Opex cost analysis and provide relevant advice.
  • Possess a degree in quantity surveying, cost management, or a related field.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in quantity surveying or cost management (or equivalent).
  • Experience in business development initiatives.
  • Demonstrated commercial and financial insight.
  • Familiarity with value engineering, life cycle costing, and construction-related contractual frameworks.
  • Experience leading segments of projects within large, diverse teams.
  • Proven ability to cultivate relationships with key senior stakeholders.
  • Understanding of how sustainability and carbon considerations will influence project outcomes.
  • Fluency in German is desirable but not mandatory.
