Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated professional with a passion for cost and commercial management. The German division is in search of a Senior Cost & Commercial Manager who possesses experience in the Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences sector. This role involves delivering comprehensive cost management services for ongoing projects across the nation. Our flexible working policy allows employees to primarily work from home, with occasional visits to client sites as needed. Our team convenes in Frankfurt for necessary meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate prior experience in a cost consultancy environment in a comparable position.
- Engage with clients in the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences sectors.
- Utilize JCT form of contract knowledge, with familiarity in NEC being advantageous.
- Oversee cost planning, budgeting, and estimation processes.
- Manage personnel and implement risk management strategies.
- Possess a solid understanding of contract law and construction-related contractual frameworks.
- Provide expertise in Contract Administration.
- Implement value engineering and life cycle costing methodologies.
- Exhibit a strong grasp of industry best practices.
- Address current issues such as Sustainability, Social Value, and Carbon Reduction affecting the Public Sector.
- Conduct Capex vs. Opex cost analysis and provide relevant advice.
- Hold a degree in quantity surveying, cost management, or an equivalent qualification.
Additional Qualifications:
- A degree in quantity surveying or cost management (or equivalent).
- Experience in business development activities.
- Demonstrated commercial and financial acumen.
- Familiarity with value engineering, life cycle costing, and construction-related contract law.
- Experience leading segments of projects within large, diverse teams.
- Proven ability to manage relationships with key senior stakeholders.
- Awareness of how carbon and sustainability considerations influence project outcomes.
- Fluency in German is desirable but not mandatory.
