The Role:
The Head of Airline Network Development and Landing Infrastructure will oversee the international Network Development and Landing Infrastructure team. Reporting directly to the VP Support & Services / Power-ON, you will be accountable for defining, establishing, and executing network strategies and infrastructure development on a global scale.
You will hold comprehensive responsibility for assisting our commercial partners in launching a Lilium jet network, which includes the design, permitting, and construction of landing infrastructure. This entails strategically and conceptually defining infrastructure products in close collaboration with the Sales, Government Relations/Public Affairs, Business Marketing, and Airline Operations teams, forging infrastructure partnerships with relevant stakeholders worldwide, and ensuring that individual projects are managed to the highest standards and delivered punctually. Additionally, your team will provide technical sales support concerning the Lilium Jet and its operational environment.
Your contributions will be pivotal to Lilium's market entry strategy, ensuring the establishment of ground-based flight operation infrastructure networks. The objective is to create a fully operational infrastructure network for the launch of services with the Lilium jet in selected locations, developing a network of pads for flight operations globally.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the regional network strategy.
- Oversee the creation of options/products for landing infrastructure globally, ensuring readiness for launch at selected sites in collaboration with the Head of Specs and Architecture Landing Infrastructure.
- Collaborate with a multifunctional leadership team, including VP Flight Ops, Support and Services, VP Business Development, Head of Business Marketing, and Head of GRPA, to ensure ecosystem readiness and infrastructure compatibility for market launch.
- Establish and execute worldwide infrastructure partnerships in close cooperation with other corporate teams.
- Be accountable for the establishment of all flight operations infrastructure and their respective operational processes, including planning, permitting, and setting up landing sites as necessary.
- Provide technical support to sales initiatives.
- Manage multiple priorities and the program's budget, reporting on ROI.
- Lead your team with a quality-first mindset, ensuring close collaboration across different regions.
- Identify conflicts early and drive successful resolutions across people, processes, and products.
- Recruit, assess, and develop a diverse team.
- Promote and practice a culture of openness, courage, commitment, and respect, empowering your team to take ownership of tasks and deliver results punctually.
Your Profile:
- 7 to 10 years of relevant experience with a proven track record in developing and managing projects in aeronautics or infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams.
- Strong performance history in a Tier 1 firm (management consulting or investment banking) and/or aviation/airports industry or a high-paced technology environment.
- Proven track record of timely and budget-compliant execution at the highest project management standards.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills; ability to independently address cross-functional and cross-organizational issues.
- Strong academic background, particularly in economics, engineering, architecture, and/or law is advantageous.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken (German language skills are a strong plus; French and Spanish are also beneficial).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident attitude with a willingness to make decisions with calculated risks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage expectations and requirements while providing balanced solutions.
- Positive "can do" attitude, passionate leader capable of inspiring others.
- Willingness to work across multiple time zones and travel as required.
