Legal Counsel and Compliance Officer

Hyundai Motorsport GmbH, located in Alzenau near Frankfurt, oversees the global motorsport initiatives of Hyundai, particularly focusing on the World Rally Championship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver proactive, business-oriented, and strategic legal guidance across all facets of our motorsport operations, addressing a range of issues from factory operations to FIA regulations.
  • Draft and evaluate agreements with external vendors and various third parties, including but not limited to: primary suppliers, key clients, drivers, sponsors, strategic and technical partners, and promoters.
  • Manage out-of-court settlements and litigation matters for the HMSG organization, which may involve international considerations.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks for the HMSG organization in collaboration with other legal teams within Hyundai.
  • Engage and oversee HMSG's external legal advisors as necessary.
  • Implement policies and guidelines related to data privacy and other compliance matters, fostering awareness throughout the organization.
  • Serve as the primary contact for establishing a suitable governance framework, guidelines, and/or policies.
  • Assist in conducting internal investigations as required.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing attorney in a corporate setting and/or at an international law firm.
  • Preferably, experience in motorsport and in-house legal operations, including familiarity with FIA regulations.
  • Fully qualified attorney with expertise in commercial law, intellectual property, corporate law, and sports law.
  • Proficient in English (writing, speaking, and reading).
  • Fluency in German is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with individuals at all organizational levels and inspire others.
  • Service-oriented and culturally aware.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated loyalty, confidentiality, integrity, and reliability.
  • A proactive, enthusiastic, and innovative approach to work.
