We are seeking an experienced Operations Business Unit Leader to join our team at Connecting Experts. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities and long-term goals of our business unit.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Operational Strategy: Create and implement an operational strategy for the business unit that aligns with our company's overarching goals, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
- Manage Daily Operations: Oversee the business unit's daily operations, ensuring supply chain coordination, effective production, and high standards of quality are met. Implement process optimization to increase output, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Lead and Mentor a High-Achieving Team: Develop, lead, and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Regularly review performance and provide guidance on professional development.
- Oversee Financial Performance: Monitor the business unit's financial performance, planning, and forecasting. Ensure cost-control procedures are followed and identify opportunities to reduce expenses while increasing revenue.
- Implement Process Improvement Initiatives: Apply Six Sigma, Lean, or other process improvement methodologies to enhance overall efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline operations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with supply chain, finance, sales, and other business unit leaders to ensure cross-functional alignment and effective communication. Work together on projects impacting multiple departments within the company.
- Set and Track Key Performance Indicators: Establish the business unit's key performance indicators (KPIs) and track progress against them. Utilize data-driven analysis to inform initiatives for continuous improvement and make informed decisions.
- Ensure Compliance and Quality: Verify that all operating procedures adhere to internal quality control standards, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Take corrective action as necessary.
- Customer Focus: Maintain a strong customer focus by meeting expectations, managing escalations effectively, and ensuring prompt delivery of goods and services.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational risks for the business unit, such as equipment malfunctions, supply chain disruptions, and compliance issues. Develop contingency plans to minimize risks.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, operations management, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Experience: Demonstrated operations management experience (10+ years), with at least 5+ years in a leadership capacity.
- Skills and Qualifications: Proven expertise in supply chain management, operating procedures, and process optimization methodologies. Strong background in Six Sigma, Lean, or other process improvement techniques. Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills, with a history of leading and growing high-performing teams. Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. Effective stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and drive change across the organization. Familiarity with industry-specific laws, standards of quality, and compliance requirements.
