Reporting Structure

This position reports to the R&D Team Lead.

Your Responsibilities

We are seeking motivated students to join our research and development team within a forward-thinking global organization. This internship offers the opportunity to learn from skilled professionals, gain insights into innovative technologies, and acquire hands-on experience through engaging tasks in a project setting. You will participate in a project and execute a defined set of responsibilities autonomously. Utilize your time at our corporate research center to expand your professional network and familiarize yourself with our organization. Your role will encompass the following tasks and responsibilities:
• Contribute to an active research initiative focused on validating concepts and optimizing facilities for hydrogen production and its derivatives from renewable energy sources. This work is crucial for realizing the energy transition and decarbonizing the hydrogen economy.
• Develop visual representations of realistic hydrogen production facility projects, focusing on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as capacity factors, operational cost contributions, and levelized cost of hydrogen (LCOH).
• Explore user-friendly visualization techniques that prioritize usability and simplicity.
• Conduct independent optimization experiments aimed at enhancing overall plant performance and generating innovative ideas to refine the underlying plant model.
• We expect you to demonstrate a willingness to tackle complex challenges, possess a strong motivation to implement and test developed models and algorithms, and proactively propose new solutions to potential obstacles.
• Manage an independent work task as a member of the project team.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Mathematics, Physics, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with mathematical optimization and algorithms.
  • Interest in addressing complex industrial optimization challenges.
  • Programming skills in Python and JavaScript.
  • Interest in graphical frontend development.
  • Strong communication skills with proficiency in English, both spoken and written, suitable for an international team.
