About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to join our AWS EMEA team in Germany. As a key member of our legal team, you will play a critical role in supporting the sales of Amazon Web Services (AWS) to commercial and public sector customers throughout the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, negotiate and advise on strategic technology service agreements with enterprise customers, public sector customers and partners.
  • Provide legal support for local and regional services and initiatives, including ongoing legal counsel and regulatory interpretation and guidance for senior executives and other business and legal team members.
  • Participate in other legal team projects, including managing legal issues that arise in existing relationships and handling customer and business partner inquiries.
Requirements
  • Qualified and admitted to practice law in Germany.
  • Minimum 5+ years of legal experience following qualification.
  • Previous work experience in a law firm, government, or in-house at a technology company.
  • Transactional experience, including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Professional fluency in English and German, written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with cloud computing, IT infrastructure and telecommunications.
  • Experience with IT transactions, including technology licensing agreements.
  • Fluency in any additional European languages.
  • Experience engaging with government contracting officials, system integrators, prime contractors, subcontractors, and resellers.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and contracting laws, rules, and regulations applicable to the German public sector.
