Investment Associate/Analyst – Global Growth Fund

Position Overview

Carter Wahlberg is seeking a talented and motivated Investment Associate to join their Berlin team. As an Investment Associate, you will play a crucial role in the investment process, from deal sourcing and due diligence to portfolio management and exit strategy execution. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and gain exposure to a wide variety of industries and geographies, making it ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, a passion for growth investing, and a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Deal Sourcing and Origination

  • Identify and assess potential investment opportunities in line with the fund's strategy.
  • Develop relationships with entrepreneurs, industry experts, and advisors to generate deal flow.
  • Attend industry events and networking opportunities to source high-quality investment leads.

Financial Analysis

  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis and modeling of prospective investments.
  • Assess company financials, market dynamics, and growth potential.
  • Prepare investment memos and presentations for the investment committee.

Due Diligence

  • Lead comprehensive due diligence on target companies, including market research, competitor analysis, and financial modeling.
  • Liaise with external advisors such as legal, accounting, and sector experts to gather insights.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure thorough evaluation of risks and opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field. An MBA or CFA is preferred but not required.
  • Experience: 1-4 years of experience in private equity, venture capital or investment banking. Experience in Tech sector would be a big plus.
  • Financial Expertise: Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial statements and market data.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical abilities, with a deep understanding of business models, financial metrics, and industry dynamics.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise investment recommendations.
  • Networking: Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build relationships with entrepreneurs, investors, and industry professionals.
