We are seeking a Senior Manager of Portfolio Performance in the CTO Global Portfolio and Accumulation Steering division, located in Munich.

Your Team
Our team is committed to establishing a data-driven framework for cross-Line of Business (LoB) portfolio management that is continuously refined to adapt to new insights. Collaboration is essential in our interactions with product owners to enhance profitability, as well as within our diverse and international team based in Munich and Bucharest.

The Impact You Will Have
Reporting to the Head of Strategic Portfolio Steering and Monitoring, your role will concentrate on managing portfolios at various levels of Allianz Commercial underwriting operations, including portfolio, segment, client, and account levels.
You will collaborate closely with business line management to guide portfolio development in the desired direction, ensuring that planned underwriting initiatives are effectively executed to achieve sustainable profitability.
Your responsibilities will also include developing steering concepts that support Allianz Commercial's underwriting strategy discussions and optimal portfolio composition, encompassing pricing and capacity strategies at the segment level while analyzing market trends to navigate the insurance market cycle.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Oversee and advance your area of responsibility, including projects related to portfolio management and analytics. Implement CUO/CTO portfolio steering, focusing on the execution of pricing, capacity, and portfolio strategies. Lead discussions in quarterly portfolio management meetings by preparing concise summaries and facilitating exchanges. Analyze portfolio performance, including market trends (focusing on pricing, capacity, and claims) for assigned LoBs, and provide insights for CUO and Allianz Commercial global portfolio strategy to enhance profitability. Manage portfolio analytics processes, including top management reporting, to ensure stakeholder transparency and alignment. Collaborate with CUO LoB colleagues to drive action steering processes, translating underwriting strategies into specific actions. Develop and maintain portfolio analytics and steering tools in collaboration with other teams to ensure globally consistent performance management. Promote best practices in portfolio management across all product groups. Review work from team members and mentor junior colleagues while leading portfolio management training sessions.

What You'll Bring to the Role

A Master's degree (or equivalent) in finance, economics, science, or engineering. Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, employing a logical and methodical approach. Extensive knowledge of the insurance industry, including technical underwriting and/or actuarial experience across multiple domains. Ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively, tailored to the audience, both in writing and verbally. Proven leadership experience in managing teams or complex matrix environments, with strong project management skills. Relevant international experience with a strong capacity for cross-border adaptation. A collaborative mindset, willing to engage with various team members to gather requirements and deliver solutions. Comfort in a dynamic environment, able to adapt approaches based on new information. Fluent in English (capable of negotiation). Proficient in MS Office applications.
