We are in search of a Senior Manager of Portfolio Performance within the CTO Global Portfolio and Accumulation Steering team, based in Munich.
About Your Team
Our team is committed to establishing a data-driven framework for cross-Line of Business (LoB) portfolio management that adapts to evolving market conditions. We prioritize collaboration, working closely with product owners to enhance profitability while supporting one another in our diverse and international team based in Munich and Bucharest.
Your Contribution
Reporting to the Head of Strategic Portfolio Steering and Monitoring, your focus will be on managing portfolios across various levels of Allianz Commercial underwriting operations, including portfolio, segment, client, and account levels.
You will collaborate with business management to guide portfolio development in alignment with strategic goals, ensuring that planned underwriting actions are effectively executed to enhance sustainable profitability.
Your role will also involve creating steering concepts that align with Allianz Commercial's underwriting strategy, addressing pricing and capacity strategies at the segment level while analyzing market trends to navigate the insurance market cycle.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Oversee and advance your designated area of responsibility, including projects related to portfolio management and analytics. Lead the implementation of CUO/CTO portfolio management, focusing on the execution of pricing, capacity, and portfolio strategies. Facilitate discussions in quarterly portfolio management meetings by preparing succinct summaries and guiding exchanges. Analyze portfolio performance and market trends (focusing on pricing, capacity, and claims) for assigned LoBs, providing critical insights for CUO and Allianz Commercial global portfolio strategy. Manage portfolio analytics processes, including top management reporting, to ensure stakeholder transparency and alignment. Collaborate with CUO LoB colleagues to drive action steering processes, translating underwriting strategies into actionable initiatives. Lead the development and maintenance of portfolio analytics and steering tools (Foundry-based applications) with other teams to ensure consistent global portfolio performance management. Promote best practices in portfolio management across all product lines. Review and mentor junior team members, fostering their development through portfolio management training.Qualifications for the Role:
Master's degree (or equivalent) in finance, economics, science, or engineering. Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, employing a logical and methodical approach. Extensive knowledge of the insurance industry, including technical underwriting and/or actuarial experience across multiple domains. Exceptional communication skills, able to articulate ideas clearly to various audiences, both in writing and verbally. Proven leadership experience in managing teams or complex matrix environments, with a strong project management background. Relevant international experience with a strong capacity for cross-border adaptation. Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse team members to gather requirements and deliver solutions. Adaptability in a fast-paced environment, capable of adjusting strategies based on new information. Fluent in English (able to negotiate). Proficient in MS Office applications.What We Offer:
