Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will engage in a pioneering project at the intersection of various disciplines within cancer research. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and characterizing innovative diagnostic and therapeutic agents, particularly targeting breast cancer.
  • Conducting radiolabeling using alpha, beta, and gamma emitters, assessing coordination properties and radiation-induced effects.
  • Performing in vitro assessments of radiolabeled compounds, focusing on binding and internalization studies, either independently or collaboratively.
  • Working closely with (radio-)biologists to optimize drug leads.
  • Independently or collaboratively authoring scientific publications and grant proposals.
  • Co-supervising students and fellow researchers.
  • Presenting research findings at internal and external scientific meetings, including conferences and workshops.
Candidate Profile
  • PhD and master's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, or pharmaceutical sciences, with a focus on radiochemistry or related fields.
  • Comprehensive expertise in synthetic organic chemistry and drug design, particularly with peptides and small organic molecules.
  • Proficient in analytical techniques such as NMR, MS, HPLC, TLC, and gamma-spectroscopy.
  • Extensive experience in handling radionuclides and synthesizing radiopharmaceuticals.
  • A strong publication record in reputable scientific journals.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills in collaborative and interdisciplinary environments.
  • Highly motivated with strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently while adhering to global GLP standards.
  • A passion for scientific research and a commitment to making a significant impact in cancer studies.
  • Fluency in scientific English is essential; proficiency in German is advantageous.
  • Experience with cell culture, biological assays, and small animal studies is beneficial but not mandatory.
