Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Technical Artist to join our dynamic development team. This role focuses on implementing visual features for game environments and assets, ensuring optimal performance and visual fidelity.
Reporting Structure
Reports to: Technical Lead
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with art, design, and engineering teams to harmonize artistic intent with technical execution.
- Provide expert technical assistance to artists, helping them navigate challenges and realize their creative goals.
- Develop and maintain tools for Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) utilizing both Blueprint and C++ to streamline art production processes.
- Enhance in-game rendering features on UE5 through Blueprint and C++ (e.g., foliage interactions, impact effects, etc.).
- Manage the technical specifications of all assets, ensuring they meet gameplay requirements and are optimized for performance.
- Analyze and optimize memory usage and performance metrics for in-game environments and content.
- Create comprehensive technical documentation.
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Technical Art or Rendering.
- Proficiency in Unreal Engine 5 or comparable game engines.
- Familiarity with Blueprints.
- Basic understanding of C++ or a strong willingness to learn.
- Solid grasp of vector mathematics.
- Deep understanding of Physically Based Rendering (PBR) and real-time graphics concepts.
- Experience with external graphics profiling tools (RenderDoc, IntelGPA, NvidiaPerfHUD, Pix).
- Familiarity with version control systems (TortoiseSVN, Git).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to bridging the gap between art and engineering in an English-speaking environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of devising creative solutions to technical challenges in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of HLSL or other shader programming languages.
- Understanding of classical algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
- Experience in mobile game development.
- A passion for video games.
