The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Visual Effects Artist to join our team. As a key member of our VFX team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing high-quality visual effects for our mobile games using Unreal Engine 5.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-quality VFX assets from concept to optimized game asset
  • Collaborate with the technical artist, other artists, game designers, and programmers to ensure seamless functionality across different devices
  • Plan, execute, and maintain a streamlined VFX asset production pipeline
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and techniques in VFX and Unreal Engine development
  • Offer and receive feedback and support professional and open creative communication
  • Brief, guide, and review work by outsourced artists
  • Mentor and supervise other artists in your team

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in creating particle visual effects in game development
  • Experience in creating materials and shaders in a game engine
  • Strong artistic understanding of shape, composition, and color
  • Portfolio examples of your beautiful VFX work that showcases your artistic eye and technical skills
  • Strong expertise in creating optimized VFX assets
  • Excited to work within a stylized art style
  • Strong proficiency in 3D and 2D content creation tools of your choice
  • Strong technical understanding of game engines and awareness of performance and optimization
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced game production
  • A passion for gaming and a strong desire to create memorable experiences for players

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in creating VFX in Unreal Engine 5
  • Experience in mobile game development
  • Traditional art skills and passion for art in general
  • Deeper interest in architecture and nature as a visual inspiration
