Lead Automation Specialist

KWS SAAT SE is in search of a Functional Automation Manager – Procurement (m/f/d) for a full-time and permanent position. This role will focus on spearheading automation initiatives by merging extensive process knowledge with advanced automation skills in our operational framework. The ideal candidate will be a strategic visionary, adept at pinpointing areas for process enhancement, executing automation strategies, and collaborating effectively with diverse teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement a detailed automation strategy that aligns with departmental objectives and overarching business goals.
  • Regularly evaluate emerging automation technologies and trends to uncover avenues for innovation and enhancement within procurement operations.
  • Oversee the deployment of automation solutions, ensuring smooth integration with current systems and adherence to IT and automation governance standards.
  • Recognize opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements through automation.
  • Collaborate with process owners and stakeholders across the value chain to promote end-to-end automation solutions and prioritize processes for automation.
  • Work closely with central functions such as Global IT and our Automation and Data Analytics Team, as well as functional colleagues and external partners, to ensure the successful rollout and integration of automation solutions.
  • Provide training and support to departmental staff on automation tools and methodologies, fostering a culture of learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Establish monitoring systems to evaluate the performance of automated processes.
  • Produce regular reports detailing the impact of automation, including efficiency improvements and cost reductions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, IT, Business Administration, Statistics, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • Additional qualifications related to automation are advantageous.
  • In-depth understanding of procurement processes and workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading automation projects within procurement, ideally in a Shared Service Center environment.
  • Proven track record in change management and organizational transformation, particularly in relation to automation projects.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, with the capacity to adapt to evolving priorities and requirements.
  • Experience in a multinational or global organization, with an appreciation for cultural differences in driving automation adoption.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to dissect complex data sets and identify trends and opportunities for optimization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Experience in developing business cases and ROI analyses to substantiate investments in automation technologies and initiatives.
  • Strong project management skills and stakeholder engagement capabilities, with a focus on problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP ECC and ideally S/4 Hana, as well as automation tools (e.g., MS Power Platform) and advanced data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Fluent in English, with proficiency in additional European languages being a plus.
