Job Title: Senior Interpreter and Translator

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Interpreter and Translator to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a key member of our language services team, you will provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation and translation services for high-level meetings, conferences, and discussions with U.S. and German civilian officials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation of technical, scientific, military, and political materials from German to English and vice versa.
  • Translate complex documents, including contracts, technical reports, and legal documents, from German to English and vice versa.
  • Interpret and translate public statements, speeches, and correspondence for the Commanding Officer.
  • Operate electronic keyboard and maintain/updates vocabulary on an established translating aid program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Completed apprenticeship in a commercial, business, or administrative occupation or university degree in a closely related field of study.
  • Translation/Interpreter Certificate issued by a recognized institution in the language required in the position.
  • 4 years of job-related experience as defined below.
  • English Language Proficiency and German Language Proficiency Level C2 required.
