Environmental Operations Manager

About the Role
Carnival Maritime GmbH, a part of Carnival Corporation and plc, is seeking a highly skilled professional to join its team as the Manager of Environmental Analysis and Operations. This role is a key part of the company's decarbonization strategy, aiming to achieve net carbon-neutral ship operations by 2050.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize waste disposal plans and onboard waste management initiatives to increase efficiencies for the fleet.
- Collaborate with vessel crews and shore-side departments to optimize environmental efficiency, manage costs, and achieve significant savings through strategic measures and financial forecasting.
- Develop the environmental port cost plan and forecast for the Costa and AIDA fleet, working closely with financial departments.
- Identify saving potential and initiate measures for its achievement, including environmental discounts and exemptions.
- Actively manage and monitor environmental port costs, leading the monthly variance analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or Business Administration, or equivalent. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Specialization in environmental management systems and several years of environmental management experience, preferably in the maritime industry.
- Previous professional experience in finance and controlling or a related field, with experience in developing financial reports and presentations.
- Experience in ship operation/management or cruise ship technology is an advantage.
- Very good English language skills, with Italian and/or German as an added benefit.
- Deep knowledge of Office 365, with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, and knowledge of Hyperion, QlikView, and Power BI is desirable.
- Previous experience in using MXP is a plus.
- Service-oriented with very good communication skills.
- At least 3 years of experience in a managerial role.
