This internship offers a unique opportunity within the realm of Supply Chain Management. Our Material Steering departments manage the ordering of over 31 million components daily, supporting more than 30 production sites to manufacture upwards of 2.5 million vehicles annually. As we navigate the future of the automotive sector, we leverage data and digital advancements to transform our supply chain processes.

What will you experience?

  • Data Pipeline Development: Engage in the creation and management of data processing pipelines and analytical applications utilizing cutting-edge tools.
  • Comprehensive Project Ownership: Assume responsibility for complete data analytics projects, from our data warehouse to the final visualization.
  • Analytical Problem Solving: Utilize data analytics tools and methodologies to address business challenges effectively.
  • Diverse International Team: Collaborate with a global and varied team of young professionals at BMW.
  • Supply Chain Knowledge: Participate in various projects within the supply chain domain, driving digital solutions to enhance the efficiency of our delivery network.

What qualifications should you possess?

  • Education: Currently enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science, Informatics, Data Engineering, or a Business Degree with a focus on IT-related areas. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of data engineering and modeling, automated ETL pipeline construction, Entity-Relationship models, and data visualization for informed decision-making.
  • Familiarity with Tools: Ideally, experience with data engineering tools and libraries (e.g., Pandas, Kafka, Rest APIs).
  • Programming Skills: Proficient in Python, SQL, PySpark, and visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or QuickSight.
  • Experience: Previous experience and a desire to work in a collaborative, international, and agile environment. Relevant experience in digitalization or analytics through internships or part-time roles is advantageous.
  • Communication Skills: Fluent in English, facilitating effective communication and collaboration within a global team.
  • Curiosity: A keen intellect, creative mindset, and an eagerness to explore supply chain digitalization at a leading OEM.
