This internship offers a unique opportunity to delve into the realm of Supply Chain Management. Our Material Steering departments are responsible for ordering over 31 million components daily, supporting more than 30 production sites that collectively manufacture over 2.5 million vehicles annually. The automotive industry is undergoing a transformation driven by data and digital advancements, and at BMW Group, we are leading this change by enhancing our supply chain processes through innovative data engineering.
What can you expect?
- **Data Pipeline Development:** Engage in the creation and management of data processing pipelines and analytical applications utilizing cutting-edge tools.

What qualifications should you possess?
- **Educational Background:** Currently enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science, Informatics, Data Engineering, or a Business degree with a focus on IT-related fields. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- **Technical Proficiency:** Strong understanding of data engineering and modeling, experience in building automated ETL pipelines, and familiarity with Entity-Relationship models and data visualization techniques.
- **Tool Familiarity:** Preferably experienced with data engineering tools and libraries (e.g., Pandas, Kafka, Rest APIs).
- **Programming Skills:** Proficient in Python, SQL, PySpark, and visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or QuickSight.
- **Relevant Experience:** Previous experience in a collaborative, international, and agile team setting is advantageous, ideally through internships or part-time roles in digitalization or analytics.
- **Communication Skills:** Fluency in English is essential for effective collaboration within an international team.
- **Curiosity and Creativity:** A keen intellect and creative mindset, with a strong interest in supply chain digitalization at a leading original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
