Position Overview:
We are seeking a Student of Aerospace Engineering, Chemistry, or Related Fields (f/m/x) for our Institute of Combustion Technology in Stuttgart. The focus of this role will be on the development of infrared (IR)-based machine learning (ML) models and the creation of a training database aimed at estimating the properties of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a comprehensive literature review of both conventional and sustainable aviation fuels, as well as existing IR-based models.
- Design a strategic dataset for various applications.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in aerospace engineering, chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Basic programming skills in Python and familiarity with ML models.
- Fundamental theoretical or practical knowledge in organic chemistry and IR spectroscopy.
- A keen interest in sustainable aviation.
- A willingness to engage in laboratory work and collaborate within a motivated team (hybrid/in-person).

Compensation:
