Your Role
As a Gate Attendant with thyssenkrupp Supply Chain Services NA, Inc., you will play a crucial part in ensuring the efficient movement of trucks and freight. Your responsibilities will include coordinating and directing the movement of trucks and freight to facilitate pickups and deliveries in a timely manner.
Your Key Accountabilities
- Monitor and update load systems to ensure seamless operations
- Manage equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and maintain radio and phone contact with trucks, receiving, and dispatch
- Respond to emergency needs for assistance or repairs and communicate with drivers, customers, and suppliers in a professional and courteous manner
- Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce stress caused by last-minute schedule changes
- Maintain accurate written and computerized records
Your Profile
To succeed in this role, you will require strong interpersonal and communication skills, prior experience in logistics or trucking operations, and a customer service background. Additionally, you should be able to multitask and have experience with computer and Microsoft suite software.
