Job Overview

The Analog and Connectivity Business Unit (A&C) at Renesas Electronics is seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer to enhance our team dedicated to the advancement of cutting-edge sensor technologies. This role presents a remarkable opportunity to collaborate with a diverse team, guiding a product from initial concept through to mass production. Responsibilities encompass the formulation of test strategies to ensure compliance with datasheet specifications, management of qualification plans, and execution aligned with various JEDEC/AEC quality standards. You will also be responsible for assessing product quality through rigorous reliability testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the complete product lifecycle from inception to discontinuation, prioritizing the delivery of top-tier products to our clients.
  • Define automated test equipment (ATE) testing, qualification, and manufacturing strategies.
  • Facilitate product introduction into manufacturing while meeting stringent requirements set by tier 1 customers.
  • Prepare datasheets and automotive compliance documentation.
  • Provide real-time support to customers regarding design, product, and quality concerns.
  • Conduct temperature, voltage, and process characterizations, establishing production limits.
  • Manage new product introductions and yield responsibilities.
  • Release and maintain product bills of materials (BOM).
  • Handle excursions involving both suppliers and customers.
  • Utilize commercially available yield enhancement tools for monitoring and improvement, generating weekly reports for review with product engineering teams.
  • Achieve key performance indicators related to product deliverables, including new product introduction execution, product cost improvements, quality performance, and failure analysis timelines.
  • Optimize PAT, SYL, SBL, and SPC limits to maintain quality while minimizing waste.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in product engineering, with a strong foundation in analog circuits; familiarity with mixed-signal testing is advantageous.
  • Experience with ATE platforms such as Teradyne J750 or Advantest 93K.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of analog and mixed-signal circuitry, including device physics, testing methodologies, and design for testability (DFT).
  • Proficient with standard laboratory testing equipment (e.g., DC power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters); bench characterization experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of JEDEC/AEC qualification standards and stress testing conditions; experience in developing qualification hardware/software is preferred.
  • Familiarity with yield management tools like PDF Exensio and JMP, applying statistical analysis to identify issues and inform data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to manage supplier excursions and customer escalations through effective problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor failure analysis is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A collaborative team player, effective in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering is preferred.
