Chicago Youth Centers is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian/Facilities Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our centers, as well as providing transportation services for our youth.
Responsibilities:- Clean and maintain the facilities, including sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting floors, as well as cleaning and disinfecting toilets, urinals, sinks, and mirrors.
- Perform daily tasks, such as emptying waste baskets, checking hand soap, paper towels, and tissue dispensers, and replacing light bulbs.
- Operate cleaning equipment, including high-speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees.
- Monitor and report needs for building or equipment repairs.
- Provide transportation services for our youth, including picking up from community schools and delivering to our centers.
- Work with the Program Manager to create a transportation schedule and establish relationships with school personnel.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- At least 1-2 years of related experience in cleaning and maintenance.
- Valid driver's license in Illinois.
- Ability to climb ladders and travel between various CYC sites.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of health, fire, and safety codes.
- Medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and 403B insurance.
- AFLAC (Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, Accident Insurances) and Pet Insurance.
