Your Role at NTT DATA
The Networking Managed Services Engineer (L1) plays a crucial role in delivering managed services to clients, ensuring their IT infrastructure and systems operate seamlessly. This involves proactively identifying, investigating, and resolving technical incidents and challenges, while restoring services to clients by effectively managing incidents until resolution. The primary goal of this position is to maintain zero missed service level agreement (SLA) conditions. This role is focused on first-line support for standard and low complexity incidents and service requests.Additionally, this position may involve contributing to or supporting project work as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor client infrastructure and solutions
- Identify potential issues and errors before or as they arise
- Regularly pinpoint common incidents and opportunities for prevention, as well as general incident reduction strategies
- Investigate first-line incidents assigned and determine the root causes of incidents and problems
- Fulfill approved requests in accordance with established procedures
- Execute authorized maintenance tasks, including patching and configuration adjustments
- Adhere to required handover protocols during shift changes to ensure service continuity
- Report and escalate incidents as necessary
- Ensure efficient and thorough resolution of incidents and requests
- Proactively seek opportunities for optimizing work processes
- Update existing knowledge articles or create new documentation
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, including automation of tasks, request fulfillment, incident resolution, and other enhancements
- May also contribute to or support project work as required
- May assist in implementing and conducting Disaster Recovery functions and tests
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:
- Fluent in German and English
- Ability to communicate and collaborate across diverse cultures and social groups
- Proficient in planning activities and projects well in advance, considering potential changes
- Maintain a positive attitude in the workplace
Qualifications and Certifications:
- CCNA certification
Experience Required:
- Entry-level experience or completion of a relevant internship program
- Entry-level experience in troubleshooting and providing support in network, data center, systems, or storage administration and monitoring services within a medium to large ICT organization
- Basic understanding of management agents, redundancy concepts, and products within the supported technical domain (e.g., Network, Data Center, Telephony, Exchange, Storage, Cloud, Backup, etc.)
