Your Role

As an Associate Developer (f/m/d) within the ABAP Platform development team, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and testing software solutions that enhance the efficiency of the ABAP development lifecycle. Your contributions will support the core infrastructure, services, and tools associated with our technology stack. Key responsibilities include advancing the integration of ABAP and Git, and providing tools for integrating modern distributed version control systems like GitHub.

A significant focus will be on Software Component Lifecycle Management, where you will aid in the development and improvement of tools for managing software components within the ABAP environment. This includes creating the 'Manage Software Components' Fiori application and utilizing the latest features of the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) to develop essential components for repository management.

Additionally, with the introduction of Bring Your Own Git (BYOG), you will assist clients in connecting their Git repositories with the 'Manage Software Components' application, enhancing visibility into code, branches, and commits while ensuring adherence to ABAP cloud development standards.

Our team employs agile software engineering practices and maintains close communication with our clients and internal stakeholders to gather early feedback. We are seeking a cloud-native backend or full-stack Associate Developer (f/m/d) who is well-versed in relevant programming languages and technologies.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a solid technical foundation, with a university degree in a technical field or equivalent experience. Proficiency in at least one modern programming language is essential, along with fluency in both German and English.

Furthermore, you should have experience in two or more of the following areas:

  • Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language.
  • Familiarity with ABAP Object-Oriented programming is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding and practical experience with Git and related tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native backend technologies (Docker / Kubernetes).
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and tools.
  • Professional experience in a development role is a significant advantage.

Finally, you should exhibit a results-oriented work ethic, be a dedicated team player, and maintain a focus on quality and customer satisfaction. A passion for coding is essential.
