About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Software Engineering Intern to join our team at Wayfair. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing high-quality, scalable services that support our long-term vision and strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement high-quality, scalable services with effective boundaries
  • Ensure clean code standards and implement fully automated products
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers to influence and contribute to the technical growth of teammates
  • Nurture collaborative ways of working that grow the team, its members, and the product
  • Continuously rethink and push the status quo, challenging established ideas

Requirements:

  • Availability for a minimum of 16 hours per week
  • Currently enrolled in a Master's Degree
  • Effective utilization of technical skills in past internships or university projects
  • Previous experience with Java and/or Python, DB, Web Services, or UI
  • Full stack and/or web development experience
  • Experience designing for cloud-based environments and event-based architectures
  • Excellent communication and ability to influence decisions with an inclusive, adaptable, and persuasive style
  • Team player with a desire for continuous learning and growth
