Since our inaugural crewed flight of a fully electric multicopter in 2011, we have successfully conducted over 2,000 test flights, both public and private, across the globe.
Role Overview
Your responsibilities in this role:
As a Compliance Verification Engineer specializing in Avionics, you will play a crucial role within the Office of Airworthiness, ensuring that our certification strategies align with EASA standards while verifying that the VoloCity Avionics design meets all necessary certification requirements.
- Collaborate with the Avionics Engineering Team to guide design decisions and test planning, focusing on identifying potential certification risks.
- Organize and lead discussions with regulatory authorities to agree on certification strategies and suitable Means of Compliance.
- Actively manage the Certification Program for Avionics, working closely with Airworthiness Engineers and the Engineering Department.
- Identify and report certification risks along with potential mitigation strategies to the Head of Airworthiness.
- Conduct formal compliance verification related to the VoloCity Type Certification.
- Engage in rulemaking activities pertinent to VTOL Avionics design.
Required Qualifications
Assess your professional qualifications:
- A Master's Degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, communications engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in aerospace development projects, particularly in certification activities, ideally as a nominated Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) or equivalent such as Designated Engineering Representative (DER).
- Comprehensive understanding of certification processes (Part 21) and EASA requirements (CS-23, CS-25, CS-27, CS-29, and ideally SC-VTOL).
- Familiarity with certification deliverables in accordance with DO-160, DO-178, and DO-254, aligned with the ARP4754A framework.
- Previous involvement in standardization or rulemaking initiatives such as EUROCAE or ASTM is advantageous.
- Proficient command of the English language.
