Battery Development Technician

Job Title: Lab Technician Battery Development

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lab Technician to join our R&D team at VoltStorage GmbH. As a key member of our cross-functional team, you will be responsible for conducting various tests to characterize and evaluate new battery materials, calibrating and operating laboratory equipment, and collaborating with R&D colleagues to implement tests and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting routine battery cell assembly and electrolyte preparation, chemical compatibility, electrochemical performance, and other tests to evaluate new battery materials
  • Calibrating, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, including electrochemical test stations
  • Collaborating with R&D colleagues to implement tests and procedures, ensuring compliance with good laboratory practice and occupational safety
  • Assisting in the preparation of technical documentation and reports for internal use and regulatory compliance
  • Managing inventories of laboratory equipment, chemicals, and consumables
Requirements:
  • Completed training as a laboratory assistant (e.g. chemistry/physics, CTA) or a bachelor's degree in chemistry, physics, plus 2 years of professional experience in the laboratory (preferably in a research and development environment)
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following electrochemical and analytical techniques (cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, titrations, UV/VIS spectroscopy, etc.)
  • Experience with lab-related software and Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Very good written and spoken English knowledge
  • Positive "can do" attitude
  • Practical experience with batteries and/or fuel cells is an advantage
