Job Title: Postdoctoral Researcher in Translational Immunology

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the University of Cologne, Department of Internal Medicine, University Hospital Cologne. The successful candidate will be part of our research group focused on developing innovative immunotherapies for severe bacterial infections.

About the Position:
  • Design and modify monoclonal antibodies to target bacterial pathogens
  • Conduct in vitro and in vivo validation of monoclonal antibodies
  • Develop novel therapeutic strategies
  • Supervise and train junior members and technicians in the lab
  • Closely collaborate with medical and experimental collaboration partners
  • Presentation of data within meetings and national/international congresses
  • Publication of results in high-impact journals

Our research group is embedded within the Translational Research Unit - Infectious Diseases (TRU-ID) at the Center for Molecular Medicine Cologne (CMMC) with state-of-the-art laboratories covering biosafety levels (BSL) 1 to 3. We offer a creative and innovative research environment with full access to cutting-edge technology platforms.

Requirements:
  • PhD in molecular biology, immunology, or equivalent
  • Strong background in molecular biology/immunology, microbiology, and/or biochemistry
  • Experience in state-of-the-art advanced multi-color flow cytometry
  • Experience in mouse models and/or BSL2 bacterial organisms desirable but not required
  • High motivation level and ability to work effectively in a team
  • Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent data reporting and communication skills
