About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Front-End Engineer to join our team at Amazon Web Services Development Center Germany GmbH. As a Senior Front-End Developer, you will play a key role in shaping the user experience of our applications and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Front-End Development: Guide the design, implementation, and optimization of responsive and accessible user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks and libraries.
  • Establish Front-End Architecture: Drive the development of reusable and modular UI components, adhering to best practices and design systems.
  • Performance and Quality Excellence: Ensure optimal performance by implementing efficient rendering techniques, code splitting, and other performance optimization strategies. Contribute to establishing and maintaining high-quality standards for the front-end codebase through testing, code reviews, and best practices.
  • Collaboration and Mentorship: Collaborate closely with designers, backend engineers, and product teams to understand requirements and translate them into seamless user experiences. Share knowledge across the organization through tech talks and mentoring other front-end developers.

Requirements
  • Experience with common front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node
  • Experience using JavaScript frameworks and the latest Web Standards
  • Experience in computer science fundamentals: object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with WASM, WebGPU
  • Experience building reusable UX components or libraries
  • Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
