Senior Group Financial Accountant

Join our dynamic Group Finance team at Hannover Re, where we are looking for a Senior Group Financial Accountant with expertise in IFRS Accounting. This role is available for both full-time and part-time candidates (minimum 30 hours per week).

In the ACR team within Group Finance, we are responsible for routine accounting, payment processing, and the preparation of financial statements in accordance with HGB standards for our entities. Additionally, we oversee Group financial reporting activities, including data analysis, consolidation, and report generation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing consolidated financial statements and quarterly reports compliant with IFRS standards
  • Contributing to Group forecasting and strategic planning
  • Managing sections of notes related to the consolidated financial statements
  • Assisting with the implications of international accounting changes
  • Analyzing financial issues and consolidation needs
  • Ensuring the accuracy of individual accounts within financial statements
  • Participating in projects, delivering presentations, and leading workshops

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in auditing, taxation, insurance, business mathematics, or finance
  • At least 5 years of experience in group accounting, preferably in the insurance or finance sectors
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting principles
  • Familiarity with Solvency II regulations
  • Fluency in both German and English
  • Excellent analytical skills and a structured approach to work
