RINA is currently seeking a Junior Marine Electrical Engineer to support its operations in the Marine North Europe Region.
Mission
In this position, you will be tasked with evaluating the design of electrical installations and automation plans for ships, ensuring compliance with statutory codes, RINA Rules & Regulations, as well as International and National Standards. This will be executed consistently and efficiently for new constructions, conversion projects, and vessels in service.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine and authorize electrical and automation system designs, including advancements in autonomous ship technology and cybersecurity, ensuring adherence to Class Rules and Statutory Regulations for new builds, existing vessels, and conversions.
- Support clients throughout the design and construction phases by offering expert advice on electrical and automation systems, including aspects of autonomous technology and cybersecurity.
- Assist in the development of comprehensive marine engineering plan reviews, aligning with RINA rules, international conventions, and contractual obligations.
- Provide support to engineering teams by collecting data, submitting necessary documentation, and performing other routine tasks.
- Prepare project deliverables such as technical reports, performance documentation, and engineering drawings.
- Oversee the financial aspects of assigned tasks, ensuring accountability.
- Manage straightforward projects using established project management principles.
- Evaluate minor structural issues for clients to propose effective solutions with minimal oversight.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Marine Engineering or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
- Familiarity with RINA Rules, statutory regulations, and international standards.
- Experience with PAX and RO RO PAX systems is advantageous.
