Within the ZEISS Microoptics division, we enhance glass and transparent plastic surfaces through a patented intellectual property platform, utilizing various micro-optical structures and holographic optical elements. This enables the integration and combination of diverse functionalities such as lighting, projection, filtering, and detection.
In this role, you will be tasked with developing, refining, leading, and executing market entry and business strategies to establish our position as the sole provider of comprehensive holographic solutions, a transformative technology in the market. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Scaling the business to a significant size while securing a substantial portion of the value chain.
- Developing, supporting, and advising key clients, as well as identifying, cultivating, and managing partnerships with customers, research and development collaborators, and suppliers.
- Creating product roadmaps and proposing product innovations for sectors such as automotive, consumer electronics, and home technology (including deriving technology requirements).
- Analyzing market trends; screening, identifying, and initially assessing the competitive landscape.
- Planning and leading negotiations from intellectual property agreements to comprehensive partnership contracts.
- Building and expanding the business development team for a rapidly growing enterprise projected to generate several hundred million Euros in revenue, with a strong emphasis on leadership and personnel development.
- Enhancing the ZEISS brand value by promoting this remarkable technology.
- A minimum of several years of proven experience in leadership roles within business development or corporate development, successfully scaling dynamic, multicultural teams in small to medium-sized enterprises.
- A solid educational foundation in economics, engineering, or natural sciences.
- The ability and willingness to delve deeply into the technological aspects of advanced optics and holography to make informed managerial decisions.
- Familiarity with industry dynamics and technologies, particularly in automotive, home technology, and consumer electronics.
- Executive management skills and experience in delivering business outcomes and tangible value creation for a developing organization.
- A strong commercial and customer-focused mindset, effectively bringing our solutions and products to both existing and new clients.
- Strategic and execution capabilities for complex negotiations in supplier and OEM contexts.
- A hands-on approach, structured, goal-oriented, and interdisciplinary work ethic, with a drive to tackle and complete essential tasks independently and with analytical precision.
- Proficient in both German and English (business fluent) and open to international travel.
