About the Position
We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified researcher to join our team as a Doctoral Researcher in Strategic Communication. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a PhD project under the supervision of Prof. Strauß at the Department of Communication and Media Research.
Your Responsibilities
- Conduct high-quality research in the field of strategic communication, focusing on innovative areas such as sustainable and environmental communication.
- Develop and implement research projects, including data collection and analysis, and publish research findings in academic journals.
- Collaborate with team members on existing projects and develop new projects that align with the department's research agenda.
- Teach one class per semester relevant to your research interests in our BA programs.
- Engage in further academic qualifications and stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.
- Handle organizational and administrative tasks related to the research project.
Your Profile
- Excellent Master's degree in Communication Science or a related field.
- Strong interest in strategic communication and related fields, such as organizational communication, corporate communication, public relations, or investor relations.
- High affinity towards topics like sustainability, management, strategy, finance, public affairs, or related topics.
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative methods and data analysis, including content analysis, surveys, experiments, and interviews.
- Good command of R and/or Python programming languages.
- Strong command of English (spoken and written).
- A scientific and open mindset, careful and reliable working method, capacity for working independently, strong affinity for cooperative collaboration, and excellent time and project management skills.
- Willingness to move to Zurich and travel internationally to engage with relevant scientific communities.
