Quantum Technology Security Specialist

You will be working as a Quantum Technology Security Specialist (m/f/d) at our customer's site in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the security of our customer's communication systems, particularly in the context of quantum key distribution (QKD) and quantum-based random number generation (QRNG).
Your Responsibilities:- Develop and implement secure communication protocols that can withstand potential threats and technological advancements
- Collaborate with our quantum technology development team to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and experimental implementations
- Conduct finite-key security analysis and security risk assessments for ongoing and future projects
- Work closely with academic partners to develop new protocols and contribute to the development of the European secure communication infrastructure
- Master's degree in physics, mathematics, theoretical computer science, or a related field with in-depth knowledge of quantum mechanical modeling
- Experience in the development of security proofs for QKD protocols and QRNGs, as well as their implementations
- Strong motivation to contribute to the development of secure communication systems for space-based missions
- Experience with performance simulations of QKD systems and estimates of secret key rates
- Technical knowledge of cryptosystems and experience with security risk analysis using the EBIOS or ISO method
