About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Compliance Leader to join our team at Amazon TA. As a key member of our Environmental Assurance and Protection (EAP) team, you will play a critical role in leading our EU Launch and Retrofits/Expansions Initiatives (REI) program, ensuring environmental compliance and driving sustainability across our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • EU EAP Owner of Launch and REI Program: Protect environmental compliance through each life cycle, ensuring seamless integration with EU Launch and REI mechanisms.
  • Define EU EAP Standards and Documentation: Develop and implement EU EAP standards and documentation to ingrain environmental activities into Launch and REI.
  • Improve Integration and Reporting: Enhance integration of EU EAP with EU Launch and REI mechanisms, and establish robust reporting mechanisms to track environmental compliance activities to leadership.
  • Long-term Strategy and Collaboration: Define the long-term strategy and end-state for collaboration with 3P vendors to achieve 3Y compliance goals and bridge current gaps.
  • Performance Management and Cost Control: Identify KPIs to manage performance, data quality, and cost of Launch and REI, and establish mechanisms to control spent and performance, aligning yearly targets with Finance.
  • Influencing Tech Teams: Influence tech teams to develop long-term solutions to manage Launch and REI needs from EAP.
  • Framework Development: Create a framework to cover the end-to-end needs by business type in EU for Launch and REI.
  • Stakeholder Trust and Partnerships: Build trust with all stakeholders and partners in the Launch/REI space.

Requirements
  • Broad Knowledge of EU and EU Country-Specific Regulations: Strong understanding of EU and EU country-specific regulations and programs.
  • Experience in Compliance, Audit, or Risk Management: Proven experience in compliance, audit, or risk management, with a focus on environmental compliance.
  • Leadership and Change Management: Experience leading change in multiple site environments, with the ability to influence those who are not direct reports or within your organization.
  • Excellent Communication and Analytical Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with Sr. Managers and Directors, and strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Equivalent Certification: Certification in project management, such as PMP or equivalent.
  • Experience with Technology and Lean Principles: Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles, such as Six Sigma methodologies, to drive process improvements.
  • Masters Degree or Equivalent: Advanced degree in a relevant field, such as environmental engineering or sustainability.
