About the Global Merchant Team
The Global Merchant team is dedicated to curating a top-tier selection of restaurants and stores for our users while developing products and services that empower merchants to grow their businesses successfully on Wolt. We collaborate closely with commercial teams across our 25 operating countries.
Our five global subteams focus on distinct aspects of the merchant lifecycle and experience, ensuring operational efficiency in achieving our mission:
- The Merchant S&O (Strategy & Operations) team is responsible for merchant and selection strategy, merchant experience, performance tracking, operating model design, and commercial go-to-market approaches.
- The Sales S&O team owns and develops sales goals, operations processes, tools, and enablement programs to support and enhance the productivity of our local pre- and post-sales teams.
- The Merchant Operations subteam focuses on seamless execution of core processes such as onboarding, in-store flows, self-service tooling, and integrations, working closely with our product teams.
- The Enterprise team works directly with global current and prospective merchant partners to unlock and expand our joint business opportunities.
- The B2B subteam develops and manages some of our newer service offerings for merchants, such as logistics as a service (Drive).
About the Role
We are seeking an accomplished operator with a strong bias for action who is passionate about solving problems and building the sales compliance team across Wolt. You will be focused on creating, operationalizing, and strengthening a sales compliance framework capable of upholding Wolt's compliance responsibilities (e.g., Sarbanes Oxley certifications) while enabling sales team productivity and ensuring accurate activation/onboarding.
As the leader of the Sales Compliance team, you will be responsible for building the team, processes, and function. You will delve into sales processes and systems to gain a deep understanding of the sales process and how to ensure compliance with all regulations. You will collaborate closely with Internal Audit, Strategy & Operations, Systems, Legal, Accounting, Engineering, and Product groups to develop and implement appropriate controls across 25 countries.
This is a management position based in either Berlin or Helsinki.
Merchant selection is crucial to Wolt's growth, and building the foundations for scalable and efficient acquisition is a top priority. You will hire and develop your team to establish these foundations and enable the next chapter of Wolt's merchant strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales compliance framework aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify potential compliance risks and ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance and training to the sales team on compliance matters, fostering a culture of ethical conduct and accountability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate compliance considerations into business processes and systems.
- Stay abreast of evolving regulatory landscape and industry trends, adapting the compliance program accordingly.
