Trade Finance Middle Officer (m/f/d)

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management and processing of all activities related to incoming requests for the issuance, modification, and cancellation of international guarantees.
  • Facilitate the processing and oversight of incoming requests for the issuance, amendment, document presentation, and cancellation of import and export letters of credit.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards for all transactions.
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients, addressing operational specifics of their requests, including necessary changes to guarantee texts or discrepancies in LC documentation.
  • Monitor and manage fees, including MT499 processing and invoice preparation, in close collaboration with the back office.
  • Generate internal and external monthly business reports along with other relevant statistics.
  • Report directly to the Deputy GTB Head of Client Service.
  • Collaborate closely with the GTB Front Office and provide support to Senior Trade Bankers.
  • Assist in the execution of Permanent Supervision Controls.

Required Profile

  • University degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of trade finance products, including letters of credit and guarantees.
  • Over 5 years of experience in a Trade Finance Department within a banking environment.
  • Strong teamwork capabilities.
  • Client-focused approach, both internally and externally.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Fluency in both German and English (written and spoken) is essential; proficiency in French is a plus.
  • Solution-oriented and adaptable working style.
  • Proactive team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and written communication abilities.
  • Capacity to learn and perform in a deadline-driven, culturally diverse environment.
  • Ability to escalate issues appropriately.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
