Key Responsibilities- Hiring, managing, and developing a team of operations professionals, including compute operations managers, engineering operations managers, and logistics operations managers.
- Attaining organizational performance goals and objectives related to safety, security, availability, scaling, efficiency, and cost.
- Planning and executing the infrastructure operations component of new data center and colocation expansions.
- Operating and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for Amazon data centers, including preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and change management.
- Vendor management of colocation data center services providers to meet or exceed contracted performance SLAs.
- Safety, security, and availability incident response, incident management, and incident resolution.
- Continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools.
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're the team that keeps the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers and servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continuous access to innovation.
What We're Looking For- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, or relevant industry experience with 10+ years of management experience in data center operations or critical environment facilities.
- Demonstrated track record in delivering complex projects with prior ownership of the operation of a mission-critical team and/or product.
- Proven ability to hire, develop, and manage high-performing technical teams, managing other people managers.
- Ability to operate independently as a manager of a geographically distributed management team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with analytical, quantitative, and presentation skills.
