About the Role

We are seeking talented Backend Software Engineers to join our Engineering organization in Helsinki, Stockholm, or Berlin. As a Backend Software Engineer at Wolt, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our backend systems, including our API, database, and microservices architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable, efficient, and reliable backend systems using Kotlin, Java, and Scala
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, and QA, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of features
  • Participate in code reviews, ensure high-quality code, and contribute to the improvement of our development processes
  • Work closely with our DevOps team to ensure smooth deployment and monitoring of our systems
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in the industry and contribute to the growth and development of our Engineering organization

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in software development, preferably in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
  • Experience with Kotlin, Java, or Scala, and familiarity with microservices architecture
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
