Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the representative for Vibracoustic within the Commodity sector focusing on Metals, Electromechanics, Electronic Components, and PCBa across the EU region.
  • Conduct comprehensive market assessments, analyzing indices, technologies, and the financial stability of suppliers to provide valuable insights to internal teams.
  • Perform thorough research and explore supply markets for designated commodities in cost-effective countries, leading the onboarding process in accordance with automotive standards.
  • Develop and implement regional commodity strategies in collaboration with the global commodity manager, while defining and managing the supplier portfolio and actively promoting the strategy throughout the region.
  • Achieve material cost reduction objectives through effective negotiations, guiding new and existing business opportunities, and supporting Value Analysis/Value Engineering initiatives.
  • Negotiate annual contracts and agreements with selected suppliers, including the establishment of delivery and payment terms as well as incoterms.
  • Oversee the reporting of purchasing performance metrics and assist in configuring the ERP system concerning pricing, surcharges, and related aspects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in procurement or as a commodity buyer, particularly within the automotive sector.
  • A degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of purchasing and automotive operational processes.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Willingness to travel for business and engage in networking, particularly with suppliers.
  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) and a good command of German.
